The RaboDirect RCR is a series aimed at recreational riders getting more from their riding by tracking their progress, and having fun amongst fellow recreational riders from around NZ.
Just like following a golf handicap but for cyclists, any rider at any level can quickly get a gauge of how they’re improving during the summer. Better still, you’ll be able to have your own friendly rivalries amongst your work mates or social riding group by entering your team name!
Your ranking will be calculated from your best 2 of a number of NZ’s biggest and best recreational rides in 2010-2011 . But, you can always improve your ranking throughout the year by entering more events in the series. (See all events in the series www.ridestrong.org.nz) In future years the ranking maybe used to help seed recreational riders.
Your ranking is calculated from an average of New Zealand’s biggest and most iconic recreational cycling events in 2010/11. Just enter a minimum of TWO events in the series to receive a nationwide ranking.
Your ranking may be used at future events to seed your start position.
As well as receiving a ranking, by entering at least THREE events riders can compete for the ultimate recreational rider title in The RaboDirect Recreational Cycling Series. The ultimate recreational rider will be crowned from their BEST THREE results from the series.

You’re entered simply by becoming a RideStrong paid member, and entering your membership number when registering for each event! Become a RideStrong Paid member here.
Join The RCR, receive helpful riding tips through RideStrong, and be in to win spot prizes at each event.
